Studio XX is proud to present the project Montreal-based artists Shayla Chilliak and Kristin Li developed during their residency at Studio XX from January 18 to February 27, 2016.

Smart Room is a work of creative labour in the age of digital reproduction, big data, hyperreality, affective commodities, interactive everything. We build a physical circuit using the currents/currencies of contemporary capital: omniscient technologies of convenience, homo economicus, appropriation with a human face, and of course, coffee. The installation/performance will be open to single visitors, followed by an artists’ talk. The piece contains flashing lights.
