Call for applications: Graphic Designer

Ada X is looking for a graphic designer for the 16th edition of HTMlles.

Who are we? Ada X is a bilingual feminist artist-run center dedicated to the exploration, creation, and critical thinking in the fields of media arts and digital culture. We support the production and dissemination of works by women, trans, non-binary, and queer artists.
HTMlles is a biennial festival of media arts and digital culture that presents the work of artists, theorists, and activists passionate about technocritical thinking from a feminist perspective. Each edition explores current sociopolitical issues through a series of exhibitions, lectures, performances, and workshops. HTMlles 2026 marks the 16th edition of the festival and Ada X’s 30th anniversary, an opportunity to celebrate our commitment to building digital spaces on a human scale while imagining new possibilities for collaboration and accessibility.
The center, which operates with a horizontal management model, encourages collaborative work within its team. Reporting to the communications coordinator and in collaboration with the center’s team, the graphic designer will be responsible for developing the new visual identity in line with the theme for the HTMlles festival. They will also be responsible for working with a web developer to create the festival’s website.
MANDATE
The graphic designer will design a new graphic identity for the HTMlles 2026 festival, inspired by the festival’s themes.
Specifically, the graphic designer will create:
- A general graphic charter
- A graphic mockup of the website
- The official poster for the festival
- A festival programming flyer
- A template document for festival events on the website and social media (stories and posts)
- A graphic template for festival newsletters
Qualifications sought
Understanding and interest in intersectional feminist issues and sustainable design practices;
Knowledge of the media arts community or the cultural sector in general;
Experience in graphic design and project management;
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop);
Expertise in computer graphics and prepress is an asset;
Expertise in CSS and experience with the WordPress platform;
Ability to communicate and work in a team environment;
Sense of responsibility, initiative and autonomy;
Excellent organizational skills;
Studio XX operates within a non-hierarchical structure; the team works according to intersectionnal feminist values and principles of inclusivity, openness and collaboration.
