This workshop offers an introduction to all stages of audio production and the creative possibilities of sound within the interdisciplinary arts. The approach adopted encourages the sharing of listening practices, sound body practice and non-linear production flows. The workshop covers the basic stages of audio production, from recording to editing, mixing, post-production and export. The workshop is open to creators who are new to audio work, and can also cater for those with experience who are looking to deepen their practice.
Objectives
– Develop a practical understanding of the audio production workflow (recording, editing, mixing, post-production and export).
– Develop practical skills through collaborative peer learning, independent work and feedback.
– Learn editing and mixing workflows using Audacity – an open-source sound creation software.
– Make sound recordings using microphones, portable recorders and personal digital devices.
– Create and edit a sound project related to your artistic practice.
– Explore the ways in which audio techniques can be implemented in contemporary digital art practices.
– Discover the possibilities of audio practice in the context of personal artistic practice.
Perquisites
– Commit to being present at all stages of training.
– Be a professional artist, creator or cultural worker*.
The necessary equipment is included and will be provided to participants, but each person is invited to bring material to explore or from their own practice (computer with audio software, recorder, microphone, headphones, electronic musical instruments, etc.).

Reimbursement
Ada X does not refund registration fees except in cases of illness or emergencies. In such circumstances, registration fees are transferable to another workshop.

Ada X reserves the right to cancel the course at any time without notice. Registration fees will be refunded in full.
