Six Artistic Projects
Exploring Game Creation with Open Source tools at Studio XX.
Studio XX is presently soliciting innovative proposals for interactive media projects to be entirely created using Open Source software. Instruction will begin on Saturday October 25th 2008 from 9am till noon.
Digital Ludology, which will run from October 2008 to June 2009, will bring together six selected Artists with leading game industry professionals, providing them with free comprehensive professional development workshops focusing on Blender’s 3D animation software, open source game engine, interactive scriptwriting, project management and gameplay theory. In the spring of 2009, Artists [2] having completed a multimedia project will receive a $500 Artist Fee.
Workshops will be led by respected experts such as Heather Kelley and Cindy Poremba of kokoromi.org. Studio XX will provide technical supervision and access to the XX Laboratory during the year.
Instruction will begin on Saturday October 25th 2008 from 9am till noon. Selected artists will be contacted prior to October 7th, 2008.
Artists are required to submit the following documents:
* A Project Description (Maximum 2 pages)
* A description of the artistic process including visual support materials (if Available)
* A CV
The deadline for applications is Wednesday, October 1st, 2008
[1] This training program is valued at $4000.
[2] Men will be accepted on a space available basis insofar as the male-female ratio is inversely proportional to that which exists in the gaming industry.
