grlrm is a feminist collective of U.S.-based artists, curators, media makers, teachers & scholars. It is a collective investigation of the female bedroom. Their research looks at the diverse range of cultural practices undertaken by girls and women within their bedrooms as well as the role of the Internet in expanding bedroom cultures to an online public. Through a multi-media installation and live workshop events at Studio XX, grlrm seeks to explore the relationship between bedroom and online cultures, including the patterns of media production and consumption, forms of creative labor, modes of communication and exchange, and systems of value.
