Join Marie-Ann LaRoche for a presentation of her work created as part of her residency at Ada X from February 10 to March 31, 2025. The virtual space In Here will be available on the Allo Ada platform, on desktop, and in VR mode.

In Here is a VR project exploring the relationship between Marie-Ann, her room, and her cat. The room and Disco the cat were born during the pandemic lockdowns, with Marie-Ann spending most of her time there since 2020. At once a reassuring space and an isolating cage, the room is a complicated organ. Inside, Marie-Ann, Disco, and the room care for each other as a perfectly balanced trio. Designed with Blender and Hubs, In Here offers an intimate conversation between the artist and her room, which viewers are invited to listen to while exploring a 3D simulation of the artist’s room.

This artistic residency offer is presented as part of the “Digital Skills for Youth” (CNJ) Program coordinated by the Independent Media Arts Alliance (AAMI) and funded by the Government of Canada.
