You are cordially invited to the Montreal launch party to celebrate the release of Pink Noises: Women on Electronic Music and Sound, by Tara Rodgers (Duke University Press, 2010). The book is a collection of twenty-four interviews with women in electronic music and sound cultures, including club and radio DJs, remixers, composers, improvisers, instrument builders, and performance artists. At the launch event there will be refreshments, copies of the book available for sale, and an audio mix featuring contributions from the artists Anna Friz, Annea Lockwood, DJ Mutamassik, Tara Rodgers, Jessica Rylan, Nancy Tobin, and more.
This event is free and open to the public. It is co-sponsored by Studio XX, Media@McGill, McGill Bookstore, and produced with the support of OBORO’s Presentation Assistance Program, New Media Lab, 2010. RSVP is not necessary but would be helpful for planning beverages and snacks; if you plan to attend, please email tara.rodgers at mail.mcgill.ca. Hope to see you there!
