The residency presentation will showcase Adam’s work created during the residency and include a conversation with Khadija Mbowe on skin tone bias in AI and its real and imagined future.

Khadija Mbowe is a multi-hyphenate creative whose talents span singing, entertaining, educating, acting, writing, and voiceover artistry. Their work is defined by a dynamic blend of skills and a passion for storytelling that invites connection and collaboration. With an unconventional academic path that includes half a Sociology degree, half an English degree, and a full Vocal Performance degree specializing in Opera, Khadija’s journey is as multifaceted as their artistry. They describe themselves as a “cool, fun millennial aunty,” a “non-binary hippie with a bougie palate,” and a “sentient garbage disposal in need of love.” Despite these playful self-characterizations, their creative career is anything but whimsical—it’s a steady and meaningful pursuit of community and artistic expression. Khadija’s work is driven by a belief in love, learning, collaboration, laughter, and fostering safe spaces. Their goal is to build environments where people can come together to connect, share, and grow through art and conversation. Khadija’s work embodies the belief that art can inspire connection and community, one project at a time.
