Walked Traces: Living with (___)
Tricia Enns
Residency from February 4 2025 until April 4 2025
At Ada X
Centring walking as a mode of healing and care, Walked Traces: Living With (___), explores what care means for people living with chronic pain, and other invisible challenges, that can create feelings of extreme isolation. This research draws from Tricia’s personal experience with a pain flair-up between December 2023 and March 2024, during which she walked for at least 3 hours a day as one of the few ways to find relief. During this time, Tricia documented the shapes of their daily walks, voice notes exchanged with friends, medication taken, hours slept, and pain levels, all of which fuel this residency. Her plan for this research, using geolocated audio and 3D rendering objects of care (and more yet to be discovered), is to create an interactive personal experience that expands what healing, care, community, and connection mean, and how they are interconnected.
