Studio XX closes 2010 with Wired Women S@lon 79 featuring a presentation and installation titled Cabinet de curiosités masculines by Studio XX’s international Artist-in-Residence Pascale Barret (Belgium).

During her residency, Pascale continued her exploration of avatars, audio, video, Internet and handheld technologies to create Cabinet de curiosités masculines, composed of a physical structure in the form of a miniature museum and a blog. Stemming from Pascale’s virtual musings, the project consists of tangible framed pieces including text, drawing, engraving on stone, prints on porcelain and paper, LCD screens, digital photography, film, watercolor painting and sculpture combining human, animal, plant and technological components with mixed realities (daily, documentary and fictitious).

The pieces signify the unlimited space and time of Pascale Barret’s collections…

This blog sets the stage for Cabinet de curiosités masculines.

Pascale Barret also invites and welcomes visitors to view her artwork on Saturday, December 18 between Noon and 5pm.

Complimentary support for Pascale Barret’s residency was generously provided by WBI (BWI Brussels Wallonia International)

The evening and volume get turned up as audience members mingle, enjoy bites and beverages followed by a stunning photographic montage presentation of HTMlles 2010 : Festival of Media Art + Digital Culture , assembled by Ximena Holuigue.

If you missed Marginalia by Pam Hall and Margaret Dragu, you can enjoy the installation in the Studio XX café during this Salon!
