Adislén Reyes

Adislén Reyes (Havana, 1984) a graduate of the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, Reyes is interested in the use of traditional decorative arts in contemporary art. In order to discuss sensitive topics like adult sexual perversion, Reyes reappropriates the aesthetics of advertising to children used by the mass media. Her favorite mediums are painting and screen printing, but frequently uses objects within installations. Reyes has decorated disposable plates in the manner of  Eighteenth Century fine tableware and has fabricated luxurious fans with newspaper.
