Cathy Busby

Cathy Busby is currently working at the National Gallery of Canada as a researcher and writer with CyberMuse, the Gallery’s on-line and multimedia project. She recently co-edited an anthology, When Pain Strikes (University of Minnesota with the Banff Centre for the Arts, 1999) about pain and pain management. She holds a Phd in Communication from Concordia University in Montreal and her dissertation is entitled “Tragedies, Transgressions and Transformations: Memory, Suffering and Recovery Culture.” The focus of her independent research continues to be centred on the multiple meanings and feelings of pain in contemporary culture.
