Conseil des Montréalaises

The Conseil des Montréalaises acts as an advisory body, either at the request of Montreal City Council or on its own initiative, to the city administration on issues regarding the status of women and equality between women and men. Like other existing councils, it is an invaluable democratic resource and offers a distinctive forum for expression. This is an aspect of its goal of promoting the development of an active role for female citizens as participants in public life in Montreal, be they citizens, workers, or elected officials.
