Dominique Ferraton

Dominique Ferraton is a multidisciplinary artist from Montreal. Through sound and visual art, she explores our relationship with our environment : the ways in which we occupy and transform the places we inhabit, and how we are affected by them. Her focus is often on natural environments and landscapes, the few wild spaces created or found in urban areas, as well as the contradictions or correspondences that exist between what is natural and what is manufactured. This is what led her to spend time in Montreal’s empty lots and produce a series of hand-drawn maps of several of them. These were published as a guidebook titled Cartographie éphémère : dix terrains vagues de Montréal.
