Ida Toft

Ida Toft is an artist and researcher with Danish upbringing, currently based in Montreal/Tiohtià:ke. Ida works with sculpture/installations and researches digital and analogue technologies to find artistic expressions. With attention to entanglements of power, the senses and the common sense, Ida has an interest in artistic expressions at an edge between the popular and the abstract. Ida has been involved with experimental game creation since 2007, and have shown their work across Europe and North America in art spaces, festivals, and game parties/events.

They hold a doctorate in research-creation and interdisciplinary art practice (the individualized program) from Concordia University, Montreal, a Master of Science in IT, design and communication from the IT University in Copenhagen and a bachelor degree in communication and public administration from Roskilde University. Their academic research explores potentials of vibration technologies in the context of art production and game development.
