Juliet Davis

Juliet Davis is an artist, writer, researcher, and professor at the University of Tampa, seeking to advance theory and practice in visual culture, particularly areas where new media and gender studies intersect. Davis’s article entitled “Fractured Cybertales: Navigating the Feminine” recently appeared in Leonardo: Journal of the International Society for the Arts, Sciences, and Technology (MIT Press). Prominent museums and festivals have exhibited Davis’s artwork internationally, including SIGGRAPH, ISEA, FILE, Institute of Contemporary Art (London), MAXXI Museum (Rome), and The International Museum of Women (USA). Neal Benezra, Director of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, has awarded her work the Honorable Mention among 2,796 entries from 40 countries in the “Art of the Digital Show”. Davis also has a professional background in consulting, production, writing, and creative direction in interactive media, strategic communication, and design. Her book entitled Web and Multimedia Writing: The Art of Words in a Visual World (Delmar/Cengage) is forthcoming.
