Julio César Llópiz

Julio César Llópiz (La Havane, 1984) (Havana, 1984) holds a BA in Art History from the University of Havana, Cuba. At first an art critic, he also has a parallel artistic practice. In his work, using a variety of mediums, he reflects a strong interest in graphic art and how the public interacts with them. Llopiz pushes the limits and the purpose of this medium to create conceptual works that appear to be from print advertising posters or that have a political connotation. He has shown solo exhibitions at the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba (Havana, 2012) and at the Cristo Salvador Gallery (Havana, 2012).
