Katja Melzer

Katja Melzer is a curator and cultural worker with a specific interest in new media practices and artistic collaboration. Holding an MA in art history, business studies and cultural studies at Humboldt University Berlin, Katja has worked at the Ludwig Museum for Contemporary Art in Budapest, the German Robert Bosch Foundation in Hungary, and as a freelance curator before relocating to Canada in 2012. In Montreal, Katja co-directed The HTMlles 11 – ZÉR0 FUTUR{E}, feminist festival of media arts + digital culture produced by Studio XX, and worked as a freelance mentor for the MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels). In 2015 she joined SAW Video Media Art Centre in Ottawa as programming coordinator. Katja is cofounding member of Igor Metropol cultural association in Budapest, and member of .dpi’s editorial committee in Montreal.
