Krista Lynes

Krista Geneviève Lynes is an Assistant Professor in Communication Studies at Concordia University. She holds a PhD in History of Consciousness from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and held a previous position at the San Francisco Art Institute. Her research examines the intersections of video art and documentary in making visible feminist political subjects, as well as multiple visions of social life under conditions of duress, political struggle, human rights abuse or super-exploitation. Her work has appeared in the journals Third Text and Signs. A book chapter was recently published in the anthology Space (Re)Solutions: Intervention and Reseach in Visual Culture (Peter Mörtenböck & Helge Mooshammer, Eds.), and her book, tentatively entitled Experimental Media, Transnational Circuits: Prismatic Visions and Feminism without Guarantees is forthcoming with Palgrave.
