Laura Caraballo

Laura Caraballo is a Latinx interdisciplinary artist based in Tiohtià:ke focused on spatial art. Their work elicits the self-conscious social emotion of nostalgia inviting viewers to revisit and critically question the past. As a result of their upbringing in a hyper catholic, patriarchal yet collectivistic society and matriarchal household Laura uses imagery of the latin american pop culture and sounds to represent the inner conflict work with their cultural identity.

Laura believes in the power that art holds in society, and as such, she consistently pursues the uplift of subversive narratives while nurturing and empowering her communities through art.
