Laura Criollo-Carrillo

Laura Criollo-Carrillo, membre du collectif Torrents - Artiste en résidence chez Ada X, centre d'artistes féministe.

Laura Criollo-Carrillo is a Colombian-Canadian multidisciplinary artist based in Montreal, holding a Bachelor’s degree in visual arts from the Javeriana University in Bogotá and a personalized Master’s degree in arts, creation, and technologies from the University of Montreal.

In her artistic practice, Laura delves into the ephemeral and eternal dimensions of memory and existence. This exploration takes shape through a digital and tangible exploration of image and sound, manifested in audiovisual installations, videos, and photographs.

In 2022, she completed the “Digital Arts, Sound Art, and New Writing” residency from Château Éphémère in France, realizing her project titled “Les villes superposées” (Overlaping cities). In 2018, she conducted a research-creation laboratory at Perte de Signal in Montreal. In 2015, she received the Art and Science Grant from the Planetarium of Bogota with the Reactante collective, and in 2014, she participated in an artistic residency at Casa Tres Patios in Medellin, awarded by the Ministry of Culture of Colombia.

Her works have been exhibited in museums, galleries, and art fairs in Canada, Colombia, Argentina, France, and Poland.
