Lori Freedman

Lori Freedman is a virtuoso clarinettist and an internationally renowned composer amongst the most creative in Canada. She has participated in numerous ensembles, notably the Vancouver and Winnipeg Symphonic Orchestras, the Vancouver New Music Ensemble, Toronto’s Fifth Species Ensemble and the multidisciplinary project URGE. More than 30 composers have written pieces for her, and her works have been recorded on more than 23 compact discs. Steve Beresford, Maggie Nichols, Joe Mcphee and John Oswald figure amongst her most recent collaborators. She is the recipient of the Freddie Stone Award and is also a member of VIEW.
