Pascal Boudreault

Born in 1970 in the province of Quebec, Pascal Boudreault studied the saxophone with Marcel Lapointe at the Conservatory of Music in Chicoutimi. His attraction for improvisation has lead him to seek out other cultures. In 1992, he moved to Lyon, France and worked with various ensembles. In 1994, interested in the cultural happenings of the Netherlands, he pursued studies in Sonology at the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag. As a musician and a composer, he is sollicited to create works for solo saxophone, ensembles and new digital instrumentation. He has performed in Amsterdam, Den Haag, Rotterdam, as well as in Germany — Bonn, Cologne and Germesheim. Upon his return to Quebec, he founded eum, an ensemble for combinative variations, at the heart of which he pursues his research on the noosphere (the world of ideas, theories, spirits…); this in order to innovate in algorhythmic compositions for chamber music.
