Thomas Hervé Mboa Nkoudou is a PhD student in the Department of Information and Communication at Laval University, Québec City. He is doing a comparative study of Makerspaces in Cameroon, Burkina Faso and Senegal to examine whether the maker movement is a neocolonial trend adopted by Africans or a chance for a local sustainable development. In addition, Thomas is co-leading the Africa Open Science and Hardware Summit, an annual event where the Future of Open Tech Culture in Africa is shaped by and for Africans themselves.
