Vjosana Shkurti

Vjosana Shkurti is a filmmaker and photographer with a background in architectural design, based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. Originally from Albania and raised in Greece, Vjsonna explores narratives related to origin, memory, and the interplay between humans and technology through the performative potential of the camera. Blending reality and abstraction, her works have been showcased at festivals across Canada, the United States, and Europe. In early 2023, she completed the post-production of her first financed narrative short film, Ofranda, which received an award from Metafilms at the Prends ça court! Gala for its precise direction and sensitive storytelling. In 2021, she was awarded the Writers Guild of Canada prize for the best English film script at Cours Écrire Ton Court, organized by SODEC.

With a practice at the intersection of video, multimedia and sound art, Vjosana has experience in graphic design, video editing, photo editing, sound editing, adobe premiere, illustrator, indesign, photoshop, protools and a general camera know-how. She been an active member of Ada X since 2019, having participated in the video mapping professional training workshop facilitated by Allison Moore and documenting our events and artist residencies as a communications contributor.
