Jean-François Primeau
Jean-François Primeau is a composer, sound designer and programmer. His interests lie mainly in works where humans interact with technology to create experiences that adapt to the people who participate. Programming therefore plays a major role in his musical and extramusical practice, for example in the following types of projects: experiments with interactive tactile interfaces, reactive websites, computer vision, biometric sensors, movement of the public in space, virtual reality, immersive installations… The goal is usually to create experiences where a narrative emerges from the use of technologies. Jean-François completed studies in composition at the Université de Montréal and at the De Montfort University in Leicester, United Kingdom. He holds a Master’s degree in composition obtained from the University de Montréal in 2018.
